College Books

After reading Hayley's new blog, it made me start thinking about the issue of the books I'd wish to bring with me to college. This problem has been looming over me since the start of my senior year and I believe it's about time to stop worrying about my space and think about which books I really am considering bringing to learn how many it really is. My problem is A) I reread books constantly, B) I feel as though a part of my life is missing when I'm separated from my amazing books, and C) I have problems. Lucky for me I am staying in state and will be coming home at least once a week to check up on my mom and such soooo if I truly need a book that I leave behind, I won't need to wait long. Hereeeeee is my list of books:

1. The entire HP series. I'm planning on getting the new box set (paperback) so I won't have to worry about my beloved copies won't needed to be touched.
2. John Green's books. These aren't even a question of whether I'm taking them or not...
3. Maureen's books. Currently I've only read Bermudez Triangle, which will be coming with me, and whichever books I finish this summer will play a part into which come with. For those I read, if I feel like I'll reread them within a couple months they come with. For those I don't read, they come with and get read.
4. Julie Anne Peters. I looooove this author and reread one of her books every few months. I'll probably take at least 4 of her books with me >.<
5. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I've never reread this series so I feel as if the time will come soon. Perhaps I should leave all but the 1st at home so if I decide to watch it, I can get the others next time I go home.
6. Jodi Picoult's. Currently I own 3 of her books. Whichever I own before the end of the summer are coming with me.

List is boring me now since a lot of my books I have yet to read. My friend leaves tomorrow and then I'll read HP til Azkatraz then after I return home, I shall read my long list of books. Basically though, my life will be a problem so I also have many seasons of shows which I watch constantly and need with me. I'm gonna need a big bookcase...Thanks, Hayley, for getting me to start thinking about the horrifying task of deciding what books and dvds I will actually need with me at college.

Bored. No Other Reason....

I'm back from my exciting/frightening trip to the south. It's quite odd last summer I LOVED Nashville and this summer.....not so much. Let's just say I'm a West coast girl and Nashville wasn't horrible but not as amazing as I remembered it.

I've been pretty busy since getting back to Vegas with my graduation, friend's Bat Mitzvah, grad parties, and my friend staying at my house til the 23rd. But all in all the summer has been great so far. I'm getting really excited for my friend to go home, not in a mean way, but my sister ended up surprising me for my graduation and her friend (who works for a movie production place) was able to get me EXCLUSIVE TICKETS TO SEE MY SISTER'S KEEPER!!! Soooo now I'll get to see it 3 days early a couple hours after my friend leaves =]

Fifty book challenge not going very well haha. Since I've been playing host, sitting and reading for hours isn't very easy so I haven't been able to finish any, though I have now started my third book which is MuggleNet's Harry Should Have Died. Hopefully *crosses fingers* by the 24th until I leave for Azkatraz, I will be able to finish the rest of HP (books 3-6 at least) and Nineteen Minutes.

I have nothing really of interest to say...just felt like writing something here haha.

NASHVILLEEEEEE

My computer starting auto-titling this EXACTLY what I was intending on titling it O__o How creepy. I guess my computer can just sense my excitement =D

So pretty much, that's the entire point of this blog: me being excited. Once I'm back from Nashville I doubt I'll be able to come on very much because my friend will be here and bugging me and I'll be bugging her to fall in love with MJ, John Green, and fiveawesomegirls. It'll be great fun.

I still need to finish packing. I'm just...not very good at things. I'll be going to the airport at around 2pm then taking off at 4:20 and arriving a little after 10. From this point we will check into hotel, change, get food, then my friend and I are going to wait outside the Opry til it opens for the FC Party. Whichhhh is at like 10am so it'll be a fun wait XD

There seriously was no point to this. I'll probably do a write up of the FC Party and Softball game if either of you care and write it here. If you're interested in reading about Carrie Underwood lemme know and if not then I won't bore you with me repeatedly telling you how adorable she is. I'll talk to you guys soon and DFTBA =]

Done with High School?

So weird. So very weird. Today was my last final so now I just need to go to class tomorrow to get senior checkout stuff done and graduation practice on Thursday then I'm good til I walk at graduation. I'm getting very excited about summer. You will understand why by my broad calendar below:

June 8th-11th: Nashville with my best friend for Carrie Underwood's official fan club party, softball game she's playing at, and other exciting things!

June 12th: Graduation (!!) best friend also coming back to Vegas (she lives in CA) then after is another friend's Bat Mitzvah

June 13th: Bat Mitzvah day 2 then grad party #1

June 14th: Grad party #2

June 23rd: Best friend leaving

June 26th: My Sister's Keeper <3

July 13th: Leaving for Azkatraz and staying with my friend (same one that was staying with me) for a couple days before hand.

July 16th: Movie with Az attendees =]

July 17th-21st: AZKATRAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

July 22nd: PotterCast, The Remus Lupins, and House of Black in Vegas

August 27th: 18th birthday (though summer will be over and I shall be in school already, I had to bring it up XD )

Soooooooo I'm pretty busy through June and July. Which makes me happy. This is the first summer I haven't had summer school which is also very nice.

By the Way, have either of you bought any of the new Wrock albums out? (Remus Lupins, Draco and the Malfoys, Parselmouths, ALL CAPS, etc.) I was just going to buy them all at Az but I kinda wanna know the songs before I see them all live so if any of you guys have gotten them yet, lemme know which one I should try to get before Azkatraz (I don't have a credit card so I can only convince my mom to ask someone to order me one lol)

I Like Projects

So today has sucked because I came to school. early this morning since this is my last week having a job and I wished to make more money. Thennnnnnn I get to my job for them to tell me that the sheet that tells me I have til May 29th LIED and I'm not allowed to work anymore. Soooooo I gots upset and have been kinda bored but then I decided HEY why not start some of my summer projects, one of which was watching all of the fiveawesomegirls videos! So I did that and finished January.

Doing this I realized how much I really like giving myself projects because I get bored and they're fun and I really don't have a life so projects make me feel like I have one. So in the spirit of projects I decided I was going to start (really late) the 50 books in 2009 challenge! I have no idea how many books I've read so far til I list them in a few minutes so I may be completely insane starting this now but what the hell, let's give it a shot!

  1. Sorcerer's Stone*
  2. Chamber of Secrets*
  3. My Sister's Keeper
  4. Luna*
  5. Looking for Alaska
  6. Paper Towns
  7. Frankenstein

* = reread

Wow...is that it O_O. I feel like I've read more but right now that's all I can think of. Maybe when I get home I'll look at my bookshelf and discover I've read more but chyeah. As of right now looks like I've got 43 books to go. Let's see how well I do =]

I'm currently reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult and rereading Prisoner of Azkaban so my hope is to finish both before I leave for Nashville (June 8th).....hopefully this will happen!

The idea of starting this project is actually putting me in a better mood. I was really pissed off most of yesterday and today so I'm excited to be happy again. You know what else I kinda wanna start but really don't think I'll be able to? I want to do something like fiveawesomegirls with people. I think that'd be fun but it will probably never happen since A) I don't know anyone who would want to and B) I don't think I'd be very good at it. And projects like that aren't as fun because like watching all of fiveawesomegirls or reading 50 books are things I can do by myself but making videos involve other people and no one would watch them and then I'd feel bad and need to start more projects to make up for my sadness lol. Sooooo for now I'm good with the two I've got going!

HEY maybe we could start a project here kinda like BEDA. Like...we can each have two days a week and we'll need to blog on those days. I mean, it may be kinda fun and will help us get to know each other better and such. I think Maureen did a great job picking out our buddies so I'd like the chance to get to know each of you better. Lemme know what you think!

Reading List

Since I am a) currently almost done with school and b) attempting to cheer myself up over the fact that I'm not at LeakyCon like Ariel (btw hope you have/had tons of fun! Had because you'll probably read this after you get back because why the heck would you read it AT LeakyCon?!) but anyways, I decided I was going to make a list of all the books I currently would like to have done by the summer/end of the year. The slash is because I've just realized that I believe I have about a month of summer that I am not traveling and my friend is not here meaning that's not much time to get all these books done and still prepare for moving into to college. So, if not this summer, hopefully the end of the year =] Before I write my awesome list I'll let you that I literally just got hardcore into reading again during senior year so a lot of books I'm embarrassed to say I haven't read yet are on here. If you have read any and would like to recommend whether I should put them at the top of the list or not, any information would be great since I currently have no idea where to begin lol. Now, here we goes:

  1. Suite Scarlett- MJ*
  2. 13 Little Blue Envelopes- MJ*
  3. Let it Snow!- MJ, John, and Lauren*
  4. Girl at Sea- MJ
  5. Devilish- MJ*
  6. The Key to the Golden Firebird- MJ
  7. The Virginity Club- Kate Brian*
  8. An Abundance of Katherines- John Green*
  9. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist- David and Rachel*
  10. Nineteen Minutes- Jodi Picoult*
  11. Handle with Care- Jodi Picoult
  12. Change of Heart- Jodi
  13. The Pact- Jodi
  14. Mercy- Jodi
  15. The Tenth Circle- Jodi
  16. Vanishing Acts- Jodi
  17. Keeping Faith- Jodi
  18. Plain Truth- Jodi
  19. Harvesting the Heart- Jodi
  20. Perfect Match- Jodi
  21. Second Glance- Jodi
  22. Lock and Key- Sarah Dessen
  23. Just Listen- Sarah
  24. The Truth About Forever- Sarah
  25. Someone Like You- Sarah
  26. Dreamland- Sarah
  27. This Lullaby- Sarah
  28. Keeping the Moon- Sarah
  29. That Summer- Sarah
  30. How to Deal- Sarah
  31. Along for the Ride- Sarah
  32. 3 Willows: The Sisterhood Grows- Ann Brashares*
  33. Harry Potter Should Have Died- Ben and Emerson (MuggleNet's new book!!!)
  34. Is He or Isn't He?- John Hall
  35. How They Met- David Levithan
  36. Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List- David and Rachel

....I think that's it? I'll more than likely find tons more at some point but currently this is my list. On top of this, I also want to reread all of HP before Azkatraz and am currently on PoA and I also reread a book about every two months soooooo I have no idea if I will accomplish this goal haha. But I can dream. As you can see though, I have mainly a lot of authors that I want to read all their work and they all just have to write a lot apparently! Also, if you guys have any other suggestions based off what I've written down, I'm open to suggestions. There have been tons of other books that I plan on reading but these are just my immediate list that I want to finish soon (I have such problems...)

kjsfhf Last comment!

* = That I own the book meaning I will read them sooner probably.

Either enjoy this list or ignore it. I mainly wrote it for myself to keep track which is why it's dull and annoying lol.

My Shelves

I really liked this idea Ariel wrote about with the "possible shelves" of our personality. I believe that a lot of who I am is because of different people/characters I admire so it'll be interesting to see all the traits I believe I have taken from others. So I'll divide my "possible shelves" by Real People and Fictional Characters.

Real People:
-Kelly Clarkson: I've said many many times that I adore her but exactly what I have really looked up to is her total lack of caring about what others believe she should be. For so long I have tried to be what everyone believes I "should be" and that just is dumb. Kelly doesn't care about being anyone but herself and I have really taken that quality to heart.
-Carrie Underwood: There was a magazine interview a while back where they asked her what she wanted to buy with all the money she's making and she mentioned a piano, but said they're expensive and when the interviewer was like "psh you're Carrie freakin Underwood! You can afford it!" Carrie answered by saying "what if this all goes away tomorrow and I don't have enough?" That attitude of being grateful yet never feeling like you should expect things to stay as great is something I've taken from her.
-J.K. Rowling: To never give up. We all know how much HP has brought to our lives and if Jo had taken a look at her life and thought what's the point, none of it would have happened. I thank god everyday Jo never gave up on herself and I believe I have that same strength to do what I believe I can accomplish.

Fictional Characters:
-Hermione: Especially in Goblet of Fire. I'm not the prettiest girl ever and I don't try. I have her attitude with teh Yule Ball in my life where if I want, I can do it and I'd look as pretty as the other girls at school but just what's the point? I'd much rather read than straighten my hair...
-Holland: Holland is from the book Keeping You a Secret by Julie Anne Peters. Hers is the same as Kelly which is pretty much deciding my own path and not allowing others to sway me.
-Snape: I think this thing is making me sound a little better than I am. I'll always make mistakes, but if I do I will fight to the end to correct them. Snape is the best example I could think of with that by risking his life to correct what he had done; though, I would not be so snarky and bitter during the process XD
-Fred and George: Everything in life is an amazing joke, even losing your ear!
-Spencer Carlin: This is from the TV show South of Nowhere. Spencer was shy and didn't really speak up until it was something she truly believed in and I consider myself the same way.

This was kinda fun. It actually made me think a lot about myself and what I take from evrything in my life. Through all this though, I believe I am still myself but these are teh qualities I strive to fully achieve. I have moments where I'm not anything like what I wish I was but I'm always willing to work at changing and becoming the best me I can be.

[/cheesy post] And thanks Ariel for the idea =]
