I Like Projects

So today has sucked because I came to school. early this morning since this is my last week having a job and I wished to make more money. Thennnnnnn I get to my job for them to tell me that the sheet that tells me I have til May 29th LIED and I'm not allowed to work anymore. Soooooo I gots upset and have been kinda bored but then I decided HEY why not start some of my summer projects, one of which was watching all of the fiveawesomegirls videos! So I did that and finished January.

Doing this I realized how much I really like giving myself projects because I get bored and they're fun and I really don't have a life so projects make me feel like I have one. So in the spirit of projects I decided I was going to start (really late) the 50 books in 2009 challenge! I have no idea how many books I've read so far til I list them in a few minutes so I may be completely insane starting this now but what the hell, let's give it a shot!

  1. Sorcerer's Stone*
  2. Chamber of Secrets*
  3. My Sister's Keeper
  4. Luna*
  5. Looking for Alaska
  6. Paper Towns
  7. Frankenstein

* = reread

Wow...is that it O_O. I feel like I've read more but right now that's all I can think of. Maybe when I get home I'll look at my bookshelf and discover I've read more but chyeah. As of right now looks like I've got 43 books to go. Let's see how well I do =]

I'm currently reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult and rereading Prisoner of Azkaban so my hope is to finish both before I leave for Nashville (June 8th).....hopefully this will happen!

The idea of starting this project is actually putting me in a better mood. I was really pissed off most of yesterday and today so I'm excited to be happy again. You know what else I kinda wanna start but really don't think I'll be able to? I want to do something like fiveawesomegirls with people. I think that'd be fun but it will probably never happen since A) I don't know anyone who would want to and B) I don't think I'd be very good at it. And projects like that aren't as fun because like watching all of fiveawesomegirls or reading 50 books are things I can do by myself but making videos involve other people and no one would watch them and then I'd feel bad and need to start more projects to make up for my sadness lol. Sooooo for now I'm good with the two I've got going!

HEY maybe we could start a project here kinda like BEDA. Like...we can each have two days a week and we'll need to blog on those days. I mean, it may be kinda fun and will help us get to know each other better and such. I think Maureen did a great job picking out our buddies so I'd like the chance to get to know each of you better. Lemme know what you think!

Reading List

Since I am a) currently almost done with school and b) attempting to cheer myself up over the fact that I'm not at LeakyCon like Ariel (btw hope you have/had tons of fun! Had because you'll probably read this after you get back because why the heck would you read it AT LeakyCon?!) but anyways, I decided I was going to make a list of all the books I currently would like to have done by the summer/end of the year. The slash is because I've just realized that I believe I have about a month of summer that I am not traveling and my friend is not here meaning that's not much time to get all these books done and still prepare for moving into to college. So, if not this summer, hopefully the end of the year =] Before I write my awesome list I'll let you that I literally just got hardcore into reading again during senior year so a lot of books I'm embarrassed to say I haven't read yet are on here. If you have read any and would like to recommend whether I should put them at the top of the list or not, any information would be great since I currently have no idea where to begin lol. Now, here we goes:

  1. Suite Scarlett- MJ*
  2. 13 Little Blue Envelopes- MJ*
  3. Let it Snow!- MJ, John, and Lauren*
  4. Girl at Sea- MJ
  5. Devilish- MJ*
  6. The Key to the Golden Firebird- MJ
  7. The Virginity Club- Kate Brian*
  8. An Abundance of Katherines- John Green*
  9. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist- David and Rachel*
  10. Nineteen Minutes- Jodi Picoult*
  11. Handle with Care- Jodi Picoult
  12. Change of Heart- Jodi
  13. The Pact- Jodi
  14. Mercy- Jodi
  15. The Tenth Circle- Jodi
  16. Vanishing Acts- Jodi
  17. Keeping Faith- Jodi
  18. Plain Truth- Jodi
  19. Harvesting the Heart- Jodi
  20. Perfect Match- Jodi
  21. Second Glance- Jodi
  22. Lock and Key- Sarah Dessen
  23. Just Listen- Sarah
  24. The Truth About Forever- Sarah
  25. Someone Like You- Sarah
  26. Dreamland- Sarah
  27. This Lullaby- Sarah
  28. Keeping the Moon- Sarah
  29. That Summer- Sarah
  30. How to Deal- Sarah
  31. Along for the Ride- Sarah
  32. 3 Willows: The Sisterhood Grows- Ann Brashares*
  33. Harry Potter Should Have Died- Ben and Emerson (MuggleNet's new book!!!)
  34. Is He or Isn't He?- John Hall
  35. How They Met- David Levithan
  36. Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List- David and Rachel

....I think that's it? I'll more than likely find tons more at some point but currently this is my list. On top of this, I also want to reread all of HP before Azkatraz and am currently on PoA and I also reread a book about every two months soooooo I have no idea if I will accomplish this goal haha. But I can dream. As you can see though, I have mainly a lot of authors that I want to read all their work and they all just have to write a lot apparently! Also, if you guys have any other suggestions based off what I've written down, I'm open to suggestions. There have been tons of other books that I plan on reading but these are just my immediate list that I want to finish soon (I have such problems...)

kjsfhf Last comment!

* = That I own the book meaning I will read them sooner probably.

Either enjoy this list or ignore it. I mainly wrote it for myself to keep track which is why it's dull and annoying lol.

My Shelves

I really liked this idea Ariel wrote about with the "possible shelves" of our personality. I believe that a lot of who I am is because of different people/characters I admire so it'll be interesting to see all the traits I believe I have taken from others. So I'll divide my "possible shelves" by Real People and Fictional Characters.

Real People:
-Kelly Clarkson: I've said many many times that I adore her but exactly what I have really looked up to is her total lack of caring about what others believe she should be. For so long I have tried to be what everyone believes I "should be" and that just is dumb. Kelly doesn't care about being anyone but herself and I have really taken that quality to heart.
-Carrie Underwood: There was a magazine interview a while back where they asked her what she wanted to buy with all the money she's making and she mentioned a piano, but said they're expensive and when the interviewer was like "psh you're Carrie freakin Underwood! You can afford it!" Carrie answered by saying "what if this all goes away tomorrow and I don't have enough?" That attitude of being grateful yet never feeling like you should expect things to stay as great is something I've taken from her.
-J.K. Rowling: To never give up. We all know how much HP has brought to our lives and if Jo had taken a look at her life and thought what's the point, none of it would have happened. I thank god everyday Jo never gave up on herself and I believe I have that same strength to do what I believe I can accomplish.

Fictional Characters:
-Hermione: Especially in Goblet of Fire. I'm not the prettiest girl ever and I don't try. I have her attitude with teh Yule Ball in my life where if I want, I can do it and I'd look as pretty as the other girls at school but just what's the point? I'd much rather read than straighten my hair...
-Holland: Holland is from the book Keeping You a Secret by Julie Anne Peters. Hers is the same as Kelly which is pretty much deciding my own path and not allowing others to sway me.
-Snape: I think this thing is making me sound a little better than I am. I'll always make mistakes, but if I do I will fight to the end to correct them. Snape is the best example I could think of with that by risking his life to correct what he had done; though, I would not be so snarky and bitter during the process XD
-Fred and George: Everything in life is an amazing joke, even losing your ear!
-Spencer Carlin: This is from the TV show South of Nowhere. Spencer was shy and didn't really speak up until it was something she truly believed in and I consider myself the same way.

This was kinda fun. It actually made me think a lot about myself and what I take from evrything in my life. Through all this though, I believe I am still myself but these are teh qualities I strive to fully achieve. I have moments where I'm not anything like what I wish I was but I'm always willing to work at changing and becoming the best me I can be.

[/cheesy post] And thanks Ariel for the idea =]

Stealing from Hayley

I just read Hayley's blog about baby names that she likes and it seemed like fun to list names that I loved. And just as a warning I'm very odd about names and spellings...

Boys
-Noah: It's my dog's name now and I think it's just adorable. I enjoy naming things after people I love, as you'll come to realize lol. Probably the most likely boy's name on this list, though.
-Chandler: Friends...
-Aiden: A show I love called South of Nowhere
-Logan: Gilmore Girls

Girls (I have wayyyy more of these than boy names)
-Kelly: ...Clarkson
-Carrie: ...Underwood
-Lorelai: Gilmore Girls
-Averi: Pratially after Bermudez Triangle, just with an i instead of a y. Though I did like the name a lot before I read the book. I just liked Avery's character a lot. Probably most likely out of the girls list.
-Mikaela: Told ya I was weird about spellings.
-Spencer: South of Nowhere plus I LOVE guy names for girls! Ryan and Spencer are my favorites though. Kori is nice too.
-Hermione: Love this name, love her character, way too mean to name a kid that. It'll probably be my dog's name though ^_^

Here's my list. I'm sure there are tons more but...I need to finish my homework that's due tomorrow XD. I'd love to hear other names that you guys like too.

Urban Dictionary

Sorry again for my bad mood yesterday. I'm feeling a lot better today so I decided to have some fun and mess with surveys. This one seemed pretty fun so if ya'll get bored you can try it out too. Just type your answers into urban dictionary and see what comes up.

What does your first name mean? The correct spelling of the name sara. Very, very true. Sara is just incorrect
Your age? Seventeen is the last year before college, the last year before you can vote, the last year you are dependent on your parents—it is a bridge between childhood and adulthood. Seventeen is not considered as monumental as sixteen, but somehow 17 sounds so much older than 16. Sixteen is carefree teenager enjoying life while they still can, but at seventeen some sort of responsibility is expected.
Your city? Everything that's bad about the United States all rolled into one location. Haha Vegas isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be but this is really funny XD.
Your state? Would be fucked if it didn't have Las Vegas. HAHAH
Your bf/gf name? The lack of anything I wish I actually had one so I could type a name instead of just typing 'none' =[
The year you were born? A year in which many things happened. The USSR ceased to exist. The world wide web came in to being. Nirvana released their "Nevermind" album leading to the grunge fashion trends that would follow. Also its the same backwards as it is forwards (i think that's kinda cool) The first gulf war was going on, and the first George Bush was president. Oooooh internet! <3
Your eye color? Hazels have a tendancy to over sleep, but deny the over sleeping when it is pointed out. I do like sleeping...
Your hair color? Common UK slang term for Heroin. Hehe.
Your favorite movie? A male rite of passage; to locate the clitorus; The unpleasant act of feeling a piece of poop inside of someone while fingering his or her asshole. O___o My favorite movie is Finding Nemo btw.
Your pets name? To have sex with an extremely hot woman, while fingering four other girls, 2 with each hand while "toe-ing" 2 more girls, one with each foot. Basically to Noah is to have sex with as many girls as possible, using every single body part capable of penetration; The word to describe something greater than Chuck Norris LOL Well that's totally why we named him Noah. We just knew he was greater than Chuck Norris XD
Your moms name? A man who often uses air quotes to explain phrases that do not require finger flapping. This can apply to most math teachers and socially awkward people. What the heck? (Sheri)
Your dads name? a rare kind of clown porn available only in Gaelic. now illegal in 129 countries (including Russia), it is the most dangerous porn to shoot on account of Interpol constantly cracking down on the underground rings. HAHAHA
Your favorite tv show? people who are aware of how retarded you are and still manage to be seen in public with you. people who make you laugh till you pee your pants. people who cry for you when one of your special items disappear. when you dont have enough money to get a ice cream, they chip in. knows all of your internet passwords. who would never make you cry just to be mean. Sounds about right...(Friends)
Your favorite band/singer? Winner of season one of American Idol, capturing the hearts of America. Very bubbly, very dorky but loveable personality. Powerful singing voice with performance charisma you don't see around in many pop stars. <333
Your favorite fast food joint? When you are raped by a gang of angry pandas. (Panda Express)
Your middle name? Flirtatious and Having astounding sex appeal by nature. Attention whore. Gregarious and very social. Wow. That is SO not right. (Michelle)
Your siblings name? Usually a name for a person that is a walking Goddess. Gorgeous to the maximum, fun to talk to, easy to befriend with a sexy booty. Often pulls off the innocent act but she can definately get around. (Samantha)

That certainly was fun. Urban Dictionary never ceases to amaze me...Now back to homework. Ewwie >.<

I hate expectations

I'm a good student, I work hard, I get good grades, and I care about my education. I'm a proud Ravenclaw and nerdfighter; these things mean a lot to me and I want to be all I can become. What makes me angry about this is how one simple decision that, quite frankly, I had almost no choice in is making everyone think differently about me.

I got into two schools: Mills College and UNLV. I'll written about how annoying this whole college decision was before but I am currently more pissed off about it so sorry if I repeat some things. I decided to go to UNLV for multiple reasons.

1) They gave me $2500 a semester in work study for myself. Mills gave half that and it went straight toward tuition. In this bad economy, having a stable income was very necessary.

2) I am earning my Associates Degree in 2 weeks. UNLV will accept the full 2 years meaning I'm entering as a Junior.

3) I got practically everything for UNLV covered since I'm a local and we get amazing scholarships. Mills I'd have had to take out aout $15,000 a year in loans.

4) I want to go on to grad school and not only does UNLV make this easier since I'd have less loans but they are also willing to give me amazing deals on my Masters so, if I decide to stay, I may be able to get through and earn my doctorate with not many loans and debt to my name.

Looking at these reasons, UNLV seems like a great place for me. Although telling other people I'm going there you'd think I just told them I decided to murder someone. Perhaps it's just me who feels this, but whenever I tell people my decision I feel like they think I'm a failure. UNLV is not a school known for their academic awesomeness and being 6th in my class rank, having a GPA of over 4.6, and holding myself up to high, Hermione-ish standards, telling people I go to UNLV kills me. skjfgsdjkfgjfds I know it shouldn't matter and that all I need is to know taht it's the right thing for me and my situation but I can't fully get okay with the idea that come August I'll be a UNLV rebel and be in classes with some students that just don't effin care.

[/rant]

Sorry I'm in such a bad mood...Hopefully I'll be a bit happier next time.

I can't read...

Holy crap. I just read the top of the page which says "scheduled outage at 2am on Monday" as scheduled outrage. How do you schedule an outrage? XD

I've pretty much had a non-productive day. I was all excited for finishing the last of my college work and getting caught up on Frankenstein since I need to read about 60 more pages of it by Tuesday (not loving it and I have Suite Scarlett in my room so it's making it much harder.) Damn, what a crappy sentence. I would fix it since I sorta forgot I was writing a sentence after the parcenthesis but I'm being lazy. My point was I didn't do my homework as I thought I would. It's not even 6pm here so there is still a chance I'll get some work done. I'm seriously in the mood to finish rereading Luna by Julie Anne Peters, which is a fabulous book if you guys haven't read it. I also feel like watching She's the Man. I'm guessing I'll do one then the other and once I finish all of that I'll say I'll start homework but really I'll call my friend and we'll talk til I feel like watching Friends and going to sleep.

There was no reason for me to write this so it's pretty boring and I'll sorry. HOWEVER, to make this less boring I'll post my answers to the meme Hank did a loooooooong time ago, Google Verb. It turned out pretty awesome so enjoy.

Sarah needs a date
Sarah looks like effin nicole richie in this picture
Sarah says I like pink
Sarah wants yet another nerdy project under her belt
Sarah does Berlin
Sarah hates you with pictures, videos, personal blog, interests, information about me and more.
Sarah asks about age and productivity.
Sarah likes to smell colleens armpits.
Sarah eats people
Sarah wears a bra and shoes sometimes
Sarah was arrested for cutting buckets of water that would put out the fire
Sarah loves Chicken Poop

If you wish to play, just replace my name with your own and type the verb that follows and see what comes up in google ^_^

ZOMG NEW BLOG!!!!!

Yo BEDA buddies and more than likely no one else =D Incase anyone was wondering why my thing says "like a lobster" it's because I was trying to think of something and I love Lilo & Stitch and if you aren't sure where this is mentioned in the movie then dear god, go rewatch it NOW!

Anyways, I just read Dyan's blog about things that make her happy and that sounds like a good way to start this so I shall list things upon completion of my dinner. Which is Taco Bell. Which I like....

Dinner is now complete (at 12:30am...dang lol.) Now here is my list of things I like:

Kelly Clarkson. Watching interviews, listening to music, obsessing completely, anything involving her.

Carrie Underwood. Same as Kelly...

Harry Potter. books, movies, wizard rock, podcasts, websites, symposiums, anything in the fandom I love.

Friends. Watching, quoting.

Watching weekly tv shows with my mom and sister. Medium, Gossip Girl, Jon and Kate Plus Eight, 18 Kids and Counting, Survivor, Idol, Amazing Race, etc.

MuggleCast

Smart Mouths

The scent of coffee. And the taste <3

Rereading books I love.

Going to Borders and spending hours looking at books while listening to music.

Watching vlogs and reading blogs.

Collecting things. Not like just anything, like things relating to Kelly, Carrie, HP, etc.

Talking to friends.

Putting posters up on my walls (how I ended up with no more wall space and over 180 posters...)

Traveling for concerts or anything fan-related.

Being outside for not too long in hot, Vegas summers. Or swimming when it's reeeeeeally hot in the pool. Like high 90's.

Reading fanfiction.

Watching DVDs.

Quoting anything with my best friend who understands the things I quote.

Making lists, apparently.

Sleeping.

Having nothing to do.

Playing with my dogs. Or any dogs.

Getting things in the mail.

Buying something with money I worked hard for.

The liberating feeling of completing a hard assignment or something I was not looking forward to doing.

Midnight releases.

And Watching live shows on blogtv (although I've only been on in time for one John did a couple days ago and like....10 minutes of one of Maureen's.)

So there's my list. It was long. I'm very sorry. Ummm yeah. So through BEDA I've discussed I kinda like blogging soooo I'm gonna try to do this as much as I can. Though, sometimes I feel discouraged like no one is reading them so if I start to feel like that, I may not do it as much so comments would be great so I know that I'm not just talking to myself...haha.

Now I'm going to head to sleep. Last day of an actual college class tomorrow! I'm very excited to get my degree and move onto actual college. Not too sure where I currently stand on the whole missing high school thing yet. Once I figure out what I will and will not miss I'll write a blog. DFTBA =]
